Soraia Oliveira, born in Guimarães, studied Fine Arts at the School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha and completed two Erasmus programs, one at the Free University of Bolzano in Italy and another at the Accademia di Belle Arti L’Aquila, also in Italy.
In her work, she creates compositions that question the human body and, above all, the fragility of Being, drawing inspiration from the intersection between inner life and social ferocity. Her path has been built mainly through self-portraits, using various artistic mediums.
By expanding, integrating, and regenerating images and techniques, she proposes a dismantling of representational conventions to express the importance of the unknown and the vulnerability of time. Soraia transforms her vision and reality by exploring the nature of sexuality, violence, and the artificial, developing works that function as a visual autobiography.
